Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB) Training Workshops
The Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB), is a joint program of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry of Weill Cornell Medicine in partnership with New York Collaborates for Autism. CADB is located at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s 214 acre Westchester Division campus in White Plains, New York. CADB offers ADOS-2 Introductory/Clinical, Toddler, Advanced/Research and ADI-R Research training workshops.
Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) is used for assessing and diagnosing autism spectrum disorders across ages, developmental levels, and language skills. The ADOS-2 is a revision of the ADOS that includes revised algorithms, a new Comparison Score for Modules 1 through 3, updated protocols with clearer administration and coding guidelines, and a new Toddler Module. The ADOS-2 is published and available for purchase through WPS.
The ADOS-2 Training for Clinicians uses a lecture format to introduce people to the basic principles of administering and scoring all ADOS-2 modules (Modules 1-4 and Toddler). This training provides an essential step toward competence in using the ADOS-2 in everyday clinical practice.
The ADOS-2 Research training workshop focuses on bringing attendees' administration and scoring skills to a high level of inter-rater agreement with the scoring practices of skilled examiners. The heightened level of accuracy is needed to ensure that item-level coding is comparable at different labs in different parts of the world where research is being conducted. This workshop is also appropriate for clinicians who administer the ADOS/ADOS-2 on a regular basis and wish to strengthen their administration skills and scoring accuracy.
